A recently released report by Nexusguard claims that Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks using domain name server (DNS) amplification increased more than 357% in the 4th quarter of 2017, compared to 2016
Here are some interesting findings:
– Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks using domain name server (DNS) amplification increased for more than 357% in the fourth quarter of 2017, compared to 2016;
– The number of DNS reflection attacks soar 109.98% over the preceding quarter;
– DNS amplification, UDP, and IP fragmentation contributed for the top three attack vectors in the quarter, with 16.10%, 15.31%, and 12.18% respectively;
– More than 56% of all attacks exploit multiple vector combinations.
